Interparfums’s net income up 8% in H1, strong performance by Montblanc Explorer fragrance line

French fragrance design and distribution specialist Interparfums has reported an 8% net income increase in H1 2019, reaching €27.2 million, underlining the strong performance by the Montblanc Explorer line, launched by Interparfums at the start of the year. Operating profit was up by 12%, reaching €39 million.

“In accordance with our strategic plan, we devoted considerable resources to support the launch of the Montblanc Explorer line at the start of 2019,” said Philippe Santi, general manager of Interparfums.

“Also, our customary efficient management of costs, combined with the favourable trend of the euro-dollar exchange rate, enabled us to post a record 16.4% operating margin [compared to last year’s 15.9%],” added Santi.

Interparfums’s revenue in H1 increased by 9%, reaching €238.4 million.

“Considering the high levels reached in a number of countries, it’s clear that the launch of the Montblanc Explorer line was a success,” said Philippe Benacin, CEO of Interparfums.

At the end of July, the group had confirmed its 2019 sales guidance at €480 million.
