Jack Whitehall and Alek Wek announced as hosts of The Fashion Awards 2018

Jack Whitehall is set to host The Fashion Awards 2018 in London next month, alongside the model and activist Alek Wek.

The British actor and comedian will pair up with the South-Sudanese British fashion star to host the prestigious awards ceremony on December 10 at the Royal Albert Hall.

The event, which is held annually by the British Fashion Council in partnership with Swarovski, will see designers and key fashion industry players honored in categories such as 'Brand of the Year,' 'British Designer of the Year,' 'Business Leader,' 'Designer of the Year' and 'Model of the Year'.

International catwalk star Wek has enjoyed a stellar year, walking in shows for Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Off-White and Michael Kors, to name just a few. She has fronted campaigns for Balenciaga, Monse and Rag & Bone, and has been named as one of People Magazine's '50 Most Beautiful People' twice.

Over the course of her long career, she has starred in four Pirelli calendars, and appeared in music videos for Tina Turner's "GoldenEye" and Janet Jackson's "Got Til It's Gone." She is also known for her role as a human rights activist, having worked as a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR since 2013.

'Fresh Meat' star Whitehall (who returns to host the awards ceremony for the sixth time) is also having a busy year. The comedian is currently starring in the Disney movie "The Nutcracker and The Four Realms," and is soon to appear on the big screen alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in "Jungle Cruise."

The Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski is held every year to honor the best of the British fashion industry, and to raise funds for the non-profit British Fashion Council, supporting its charitable and educational initiatives.
