Jaclyn Hill to refund Jaclyn Cosmetics lipsticks after complaints

Beauty YouTuber Jaclyn Hill will be issuing a refund to every customer who purchased one of her recently launched lipsticks, after customers complained of defective products.

The ‘So Rich’ lipsticks, part of the debut launch of Hill’s Jaclyn Cosmetics brand, were quickly scooped up this past May. However, Twitter and Instagram were quickly filled with posts from customers complaining of lipsticks with unusual holes, lumps and mysterious fibers.

As complaints continued to roll in throughout June, Hill released a YouTube video vouching for the safety of her lipsticks, expressing embarrassment and saying that, contrary to some customers’ suspicions, the lipsticks were not expired or moldy. 

Hill later said she ended her relationship with the lab she was working with as a result of the production issues.

Now, the beauty guru has announced she will refund each customer for their lipstick purchase, whether they complained or not. 

“I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer from Jaclyn Cosmetics,” Hill said via her Instagram story. “I don’t care about the loss of this money. You know how embarrassing this is for me. I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”

The plan was further emphasized in an announcement on Twitter. 

"Jaclyn Cosmetics takes consumer feedback very seriously. We’ve reviewed the quality issues related to our So Rich Lipsticks & believe our production did not meet our brand standards," the tweet read. "We’ll be issuing a full refund (inc. shipping charges) to everyone who purchased the product."

According to multiple reports, Jaclyn Cosmetics said it did not presently have plans to recall the lipstick. 

Currently, the Jaclyn Cosmetics website has a “we’ll be back” message on its homepage.
