Jeanología founder José Vidal Royo has passed away at the age of 85, according to sources from the business he founded in 1994 with his nephew, Enrique Silla. Jeanología offers eco-friendly, sustainable textiles solutions.

José Vidal began his professional career at the heart of the Tejidos Royo family business, where he oversaw its overseas expansion. Vidal then founded Jeanología in order to develop eco-friendly and sustainable technologies for the textile industry.

Vidal was committed to the preservation of the environment and to social equality. Het set up the Fondation Amigos de Rimkieta (FAR) with Juan Carlos Vázquez-Dodero, who works on projects to improve the quality of life for people in one of the poorest regions of Burkina Faso.
