Jessica Simpson finds partner for namesake label

Jessica Simpson and Sequential Brands Group have signed an agreement for the latter to acquire a majority interest in the Jessica Simpson Brand and to produce Jessica Simpson Collection footwear, Sequential announced. The agreement includes the Jessica Simpson Collection master license and other brands.

The agreement is expected to close in 90 days and may vary in terms and conditions. Along with the agreement closing, Camuto Group’s master license for the Jessica Simpson Collection will be replaced with a new long-term agreement to manufacture and distribute footwear. Tina Simpson will continue to be the brand’s Creative Director and play an integral role on the Los Angeles-based team.

The Jessica Simpson Collection was founded in 2005 and expanded into 31 product categories including women’s apparel, footwear, accessories, fragrance, maternity, girls’ clothing, and home. The $1 billion brand is available in Dillard’s, Macy’s, Belk, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom.
