Jimmy Choo revists the Moon Boot

Published

The ultimate score next winter will undoubtedly be tracking down a pair of Moon Boots revisted by Jimmy Choo! The explosive collaboration will be released on July 7 in Paris.

A classic Moon Boot

On that day - the same day as the launch of Jimmy Choo’s 2016 cruise collection - the limited edition capsule collection created by the luxury British footwear brand in revisiting Tecnica Group’s famous winter boots will be released. The boots’ original design was overseen by the Italian designer Giancarlo Zanatta in 1970 and was inspired by the shoes worn by the crew of the Apollo 11 during the first walk on the moon on July 20, 1969.

The new collection consists of eight models, "coming in several colors and materials with premium as well, such as fine sheepskin and fox fur," the British brand said in a statement, adding that it has adopted the iconic form of the Moon Boot in order to "to reinterpret it as part of a sophisticated and very glamorous range."

"[I have] always loved the futuristic, yet retro-cool Italian design of Moon Boot," said artistic director Sandra Choi. This collection will go on sale in October in limited quantities in Jimmy Choo stores, as well as in selected department stores and on both brands' websites.
