Jockey partners with Victoria Arlen for first-ever collaboration

Underwear and apparel brand Jockey International, Inc. has launched its first-ever product collaboration with former American paralympic swimmer, T.V. show host, author and motivational speaker, Victoria Arlen.

The Jockey x Victoria Arlen capsule comes as part of an ongoing relationship between Jockey and Arlen, who first teamed up with the brand in early 2018 for its #ShowEm campaign. 

The collaborative collection offers a variety of Jockey apparel designed for a younger athleisure consumer including high-rise leggings; tank tops; v-neck t-shirts; cropped hoodies; a cocoon cardigan; socks and infinity scarves, styled with inspirational quotes and donut prints inspired by Arlen’s favorite snack. 

"To develop a collection that is a perfect mix of playfulness, comfort and fashion, we designed looks that blend high functionality with comfort and style," said Laetitia Lecigne, creative director of Jockey.

"We loved working with [Arlen] to create silhouettes that capture her fun, uplifting and vibrant personality. We believe this collaboration will help the brand reach a new consumer segment."

According to a press statement, the capsule is inspired by Arlen's personal style, positive attitude and her life motto, “Face it. Embrace it. Defy it. Conquer it.” Arlen moved toward a career as a motivational figure after she developed two rare conditions known as transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis at the age of 11, causing her to spend four years in a vegetative state.

During her recovery process, Arlen represented the U.S. at the Summer Paralympics in London in 2012, and has since has competed on 'Dancing with the Stars', become one of ESPN’s youngest on-air talents and hosted 'American Ninja Warrior Junior'.

The collaboration marks the latest in a slew of launches from Jockey, as the brand looks to boost its brand appeal with a younger audience. In 2018, Jockey launched its Jockey Signature line followed by its Jockey Generation line in July of this year. Earlier this month, the brand experienced another first when it opened its first-ever pop-up retail store in Garden City, New York.
