John Hardy names Frédéric Levy CEO

Artisan handcrafted jewelry brand John Hardy announced on Monday the appointment of Frédéric Levy as chief executive officer, succeeding Kareem Gahed, who has served as CEO since 2019.

"Throughout his career, Fred has demonstrated a remarkable talent for understanding how to drive market penetration for a variety of unique global brands," said J. Michael Chu, global co-CEO of L Catterton and chairman of the John Hardy board of directors.

Levy joins John Hardy with more than 20 years of global leadership experience. Most recently, he served as president of the international business unit of Alpargatas Group, where he managed the Havaianas brand globally outside of Brazil.

From 2015 to 2020, Levy served as president and CEO at Coravin. In this role, he is credited for accelerating growth in the U.S. and Europe. Prior to Coravin, he served as president of Nespresso USA for nine years, where he was responsible for the brand and retail strategy for the U.S. market, developing strong brand equity and growing the business by double digits each year.

The appointment follows the nomination of Tiffany & Co. and Coach veteran Reed Krakoff to the role of creative chairman, in September. Krakoff also acts as strategic advisor to L Catterton, John Hardy's majority shareholder.
