Kate Spade comes to Hudson Yards

Published

Kate Spade New York is among the latest brands preparing for their debut at The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, with the brand set to open its newest boutique at the retail destination on Manhattan's West Side on Friday.

The nearly 1,500-square-foot store located at 500 West 33rd Street marks Kate Spade New York’s seventh specialty store in New York City and its 95th store in the United States. Inside, shoppers will find a selection of Kate Spade handbags, ready-to-wear, accessories, small leather goods, tech accessories, jewelry, watches, footwear, eyewear, stationary and gifts.

The brand has said that the location reflects the new vision for Kate Spade under Creative Director Nicola Glass, incorporating "thoughtful design, modern color and the spade" throughout.

The store's interior, marked by an on-brand color scheme of pink, rose gold and deep green, is further decorated with mixed material accents of marble, velvet, back-painted tinted glass and metal. Pale pink marble floors and plaster walls embossed with the brand’s new signature spade floral print tie together the different elements of the boutique in a celebration of the modern Kate Spade woman.

"We’re incredibly proud to be unveiling our new vision for the Kate Spade New York store experience at the Shops at Hudson Yards," said Nicola Glass in a press release. "I’ve seen so much opportunity to evolve the brand since I started, and for me this new retail vision is a much more modern expression of our original DNA and personality. Ultimately, my goal as creative director is to create a vision and develop collections that the original customer, the current customer, and, very importantly, a new customer will find extremely covetable."

Kate Spade will open on the same day as department store Neiman Marcus and a host of other brands and retailers as part of The Shops & Restaurants' grand opening.
