Kiel's launches limited edition eye cream for a cause
Apr 6, 2017
L’Oreal skin and hair care brand Kiehl's launched this week in Canada a limited edition eye cream as part of its on going efforts to support the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
A 100 percent of the net proceeds from the sale will go to the organization to symbolically adopt 535 sea otters.
This fourth collaboration by Kiehl’s with the Canadian Wildlife Federation is similar to that of many other cosmetic companies. MAC’s Viva Glam program, for example, has been partnering with celebrities since 1994 for the launch of limited edition lipsticks where all proceeds go to MAC’S Aids fund. Lush Cosmetics has equally launched in the past a limited-edition bath bomb for the brand's Grizzly Grants fund to protect grizzly bears.
Through "Kiehl's Gives" initiatives to date, the brand has raised over $2,000,000 for environmental issues worldwide. The brand has also supported the Tegan and Sara Foundation, whose mission is to improve the lives of LGBTQ girls and women through the sale of Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cleansers.
Kiehl's latest product for a good cause, the Limited Edition Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, features a label designed by Montreal artist Gabrielle Laila Tittley, known as PONY. This year, Kiehl's has also partnered with Charlotte Cardin for the campaign.
"While maintaining Kiehl's longstanding mission of giving back to the community in support of environmental initiatives, we are proud to continue to support the Canadian Wildlife Federation for the fourth consecutive year," says Alexandre Ratté, General-Manager, Kiehl's Canada, in a news statement. "Pony's artistic vision combined with the influence of Charlotte Cardin will help us contribute to the preservation of Canada's endangered natural environments. We are very pleased with this collaboration."
The product will be available until May 3 in all Kiehl's Canadian locations, as well as on kiehls.ca.
