Klarna to expand partnership with Abercrombie & Fitch
Stockholm-based global payment solution provider Klarna announced on Monday that it will be expanding its partnership with classic American clothing company Abercrombie & Fitch Co. to the UK and the US later this year.
Through the multimarket partnership, Klarna’s payment services, which are currently available to Abercrombie & Fitch customers in Germany, will be introduced to the two new markets. Consumers in the UK will therefore be able to pay for their Abercrombie & Fitch purchases in three installments over a period of two months, while A&F fans in the US will be able to pay in four installments in the same time frame.
“At Klarna, we are delighted that A&F Co. is part of our global portfolio of retail partners,” said Klarna Chief Commercial Officer Michael Rouse in a release. “Our continued partnership is based on a shared vision that the future of retail consists of a high touch shopping and payment experience, which will not only drive engagement and reach, but also build customer loyalty.”
“Since our customers are the center of all we do, we strive to offer options that meet their growing needs,” added Abercrombie & Fitch CIO Matt Weger. “We aim to provide engaging, seamless brand experiences from product discovery to checkout and fulfillment, and adding Klarna, which has already seen success with our customers in Germany, supports that goal.”
The expanded partnership is part of Abercrombie & Fitch’s ongoing efforts to improve customer experience and develop its digital capacities, as smart payment options become increasingly important for consumers.
Klarna currently employs 2,500 people in 14 countries and works with 130,000 merchants worldwide, including Asos, Nike and Sephora. At the end of last month, the company announced that it is expanding its Pay Later partnership with H&M to the US.
