Kohl's to expand online sports merch offering with Fanatics

Kohl’s has entered into a long-term partnership with licensed sports retailer Fanatics to expand its online offering of sports merchandise, beginning in fall 2019.

According to a press release, the deal will give Kohl’s online customers access to “hundreds of thousands of items” across team apparel, jerseys and more from major league and collegiate properties, including the NFL, NCAA, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS.

The expanded product will he housed within Kohl’s ‘Fan Shop,’ and will include officially licensed men's, women's, and kids apparel, jerseys, hats, collectibles, and tailgating and novelty products.

“This expanded partnership with Fanatics conveniently brings more officially-licensed products across more favorite sports teams to Kohls.com,” said Doug Howe, Kohl’s chief merchandising officer. “Furthermore, we’re able to offer the same convenience and value that customers have come to know and love from Kohl’s – including the capability to buy via the Kohl’s App, as well as the value of earning and redeeming Kohl’s Cash.”

Prior to the new deal, Kohl’s carried an assortment of Fanatics product in its stores as part of an existing wholesale relationship. The new online assortment will be available directly through Kohls.com, while Fanatics will be responsible for customer fulfillment and shipping.
