L'Occitane International appoints ex-Chanel executive Yves Blouin as general manager

Cosmetics group L'Occitane International, whose brand portfolio includes L'Occitane en Provence, Melvita, Erborian and Elemis, has recently appointed Yves Blouin as general manager. He replaces Sylvain Desjonquères, who had held the post since 2018 and has opted to leave the group to pursue new professional opportunities.

Yves Blouin, the new general manager of cosmetics group L'Occitane International

Blouin, 56, spent most of his career at Chanel, which he joined in 1993. Over a period of 26 years, he held a number of executive positions within the French luxury group, in South-East Asia, China, Japan, the Middle East and India. Blouin’s market experience in Asia will undoubtedly be an asset for L'Occitane International, a group listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange which generates nearly half of its revenue in the region. All the more so since Asian markets are buoyant, despite the present global economic crisis.

In H1 of the current financial year (between April and September 2020), L'Occitane International recorded a revenue of €616.6 million, equivalent to a 15.2% slump. A downturn that was chiefly due to the impact of the global health emergency.
