LIM College offers new Bachelor degree in Fashion Media

Published
Sep 21, 2016

LIM College, located in Mid-town Manhattan New York, has announced it will offer a new Bachelor of Science degree program in Fashion Media starting Fall 2017 to meet the new age of fashion journalism.

LIM College

The B.S. program will focus on traditional fashion marketing as well as fashion marketing across social media and video channels. The program will also focus on business management and marketing.

Courses include traditional ones, such as fashion styling and fashion photography as well as new media ones, such as video production and editing, and intellectual property.

LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse explained the new program saying, "LIM College is ideally suited to offer a degree in Fashion Media. With our location in New York City — the nation's fashion and media capital — and signature blend of classroom instruction and required internships, students will have access to a multitude of opportunities for real-world experience as they develop the wide-ranging skill set required of future media professionals. LIM has been a leader in fashion business education for nearly 80 years, so adding a Fashion Media major is a natural progression for us."

With changing consumer habits and a major shift to social media marketing, there is a need for more students trained in professional use of social media for the industry.

LIM College will begin offering the new B.S. program in Fashion Media starting Fall 2017.
