The New York City school announced on Wednesday that it has received approval from the New York State Education Department to offer online versions of two of its most in-demand graduate degree programs—the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Fashion Marketing and the MPS in Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management.

The two 30-credit MPS programs will give online students access to industry leaders through webinars, media-rich classroom content, one-on-one attention from faculty as well as a personal success coach and the option to experience a weeklong immersion program in the New York City fashion world. Students will also have access to LIM’s CEO Speaker Series, “virtual” fashion field trips, professional association meetings, alumni and industry networking opportunities, and career development services.

LIM College President Elizabeth S. Marcuse said, "These new online programs represent a logical evolution for LIM College. With over 75 years of experience, we are the recognized leader in fashion business education. Now, we are extending the reach of our expert faculty to wherever a student is located and at whatever time is right for them. Our goal is to provide our students, wherever they may be, with practical and theoretical knowledge that will prepare them to meet the demands of the fashion industry today, tomorrow, and well into the future."

The online MPS in Fashion Marketing will teach students how to build strong brands, discover worldwide trends and influence digital consumers, and the MPS in Fashion Merchandising & Retail Management will teach students how to conduct business across the fashion industry.

The optional weeklong New York City immersion program will include visits to showrooms, the Fifth Avenue shopping district, the Garment District, emerging fashion production sites in Brooklyn and fashion industry events. Participants can stay at LIM’s Upper East Side residence hall.

New students will be able to enroll at six times each year. Full-time students will complete the programs in three semesters in one calendar year and part-time students can complete their degree at their own pace.
