Tailoring workshops, wine cellars, watch-making factories and private mansions: for three days in May LVMH, the world's number one in luxury goods, will open some fifty of its European sites to the general public, for the third edition of its 'Private Days'.

On Tuesday the French group announced in a press release that on 20th, 21st and 22nd May this year, "nearly 40 luxury labels will open over 50 exceptional venues, free of charge, in France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and Poland."

Over 100,000 people took part in each of the two previous editions, in 2011 and 2013. In 2016, the Christian Dior avenue Montaigne showrooms in Paris, the Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières, jeweller Chaumet in Paris' Place Vendôme and bespoke shoemaker Berluti will thus open again to the public.

New venues will also be opening this year, such as Guerlain's production site in Chartres, France, Loro Piana's fabric factory in Roccapietra, Italy, Moët & Chandon's viticulture school in Epernay, the Clos des Lambrays estate in Burgundy, the Krug champagne estate in Reims, and the Louis Vuitton watch-making factory near Geneva.

"The 'Private Days' offer once again the opportunity to highlight the diversity of skills and expertise that contribute to these luxury labels' richness," underlined Antoine Arnault, General Manager of Berluti and President of Loro Piana, at the event's presentation.

It will be possible to pre-register online, although half of the tickets will be available on the day.

Thanks to a partnership with Facebook and Instagram, web users will also be able to take part virtually in some of the visits.

LVMH operates over 100 manufacturing sites in France and employs a staff of nearly 50,000 in Europe, of which 23,000 in France.
