Latest Lacoste sneaker takes cues from the iconic L.12.12 polo shirt

The crocodile brand is kicking off 2019 with a new sneaker model called the "La Piquée," directly inspired by the most iconic Lacoste creation, the L.12.12 polo shirt. Combining sport and elegance, the new shoe style is due out from January 23.

Created in 1933 by René Lacoste, the L.12.12 polo shirt has become the Lacoste label's most emblematic creation, in turn inspiring new products such as the legendary fragrances of the same name. Now, the polo shirt's signature codes are coming to a new sneaker style, dubbed "La Piquée," for both men and women.

While fashion goes crazy for chunky sneakers, Lacoste stands out with this sleek, minimalist model, inspired by the world of tennis. Crafted from technical piqué mesh with a seamless design, the shoe also has a lightweight sole for optimal comfort.

At the heel, fans will notice a stripe detail nodding to the collar of the firm's iconic L.12.12 polo shirts.

Available in black, navy blue and white, the "La Piquée" sneaker for men and women will retail for €125.
