After moving to a new location at High Street Kensington, the London museum is to reopen with an exhibition of 11 installations created by some of the most innovative and provocative designers and architects of the moment. The artists tackle a wide range of thought-provoking subjects, including networked sexuality, sentient robots, slow fashion and settled nomads. The exhibition explores how design is deeply connected to various domains reflecting the current state of the world. It runs November 24, 2016, to April 23, 2017.

Room Tone
Fashion designer Hussein Chalayan has crafted a series of wearable devices, entitled "Room Tone," which detect wearers' emotions and project them to the outer world.

Pan-European Living Room

In response to the Brexit referendum, the OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), founded by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, has designed the "Pan-European Living Room." The space is furnished with 28 designs, each from a different one of the EU's 28 member states. The work seeks to highlight the idea that domestic interiors have been shaped by European cooperation and trade.

Wuyong
Another fashion designer featured in the exhibition is Ma Ke. This Chinese clothing designer rejects consumerism and the "fast fashion" business, creating garments that have a strong connection to the land and the traditions of rural China.

Mimus
"Mimus" is a mechanical creature made from the remains of an industrial robot and a software program. Created by designer Madeline Gannon, the robot is able to sense and respond to the presence of humans.

Intimate Strangers
Based in New York and Madrid, architect Andrés Jaque explores network culture. His "Intimate Strangers" installation for the London Design Museum is inspired by mobile dating apps. It presents a series of stories about out pursuit of sex and love.

Fibre Market
This installation by Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma explores the potential of textile recycling, examining the lost value of 1,000 discarded woolen sweaters.

Potocinema
This installation is a replica of a school in one of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods of the Colombian capital Bogota, designed by the architecture collective Architectura Expendida. The replica houses videos made by young people from the school.

Staples
Graphic designer and art director of Japanese household goods store Muji, Kenya Hara, explores the world's basic foodstuffs in an installation entitled "Staples."

Love Letter to Sea Sheperd
Created by Amsterdam-based graphic designers Metahaven, "Love Letter to Sea Shepherd" is a film that pays tribute to the marine wildlife conservation group, Sea Shepherd.

Vespers
"Vespers" is a series of 3D-printed death masks created by architect and designer Neri Oxman.

City of Nomads
The "City of Nomads" installation explores how Mongolia's nomads are adapting to urban life, leaving behind their traditional freedom. The installation brings a yurt to the London museum.
