Lululemon launches French e-shop, opens new Parisian store this summer

Lululemon is vigorously boosting its presence in France. In July, the Canadian athletic apparel brand is launching its French e-shop, offering a free delivery and returns service, as well as news on Lululemon’s brand ambassadors’ activities and events organised by the brand. Then, at the end of August, Lululemon will open its fourth Parisian store, at 47 rue Bonaparte.

The new shop extends over a retail area of 194 m2. In Paris, Lululemon currently operates a concession at Le Bon Marché department store and three monobrand stores, in the Marais district, on place du marché Saint-Honoré on the Right Bank, and on place Saint-Sulpice on the Left Bank. Like these existing stores, Lululemon’s new branch will also act as a hub for the brand’s consumer community, staging yoga and fitness classes and a weekly running club. The shop assistants, all of them active as coaches in the disciplines popular with Lululemon, are always happy to share tips on exercise routines and running routes.

Lululemon also continues to forge links with sporting event organisers, and will partner La Parisienne, a running event for women scheduled in the French capital on September 8. Lululemon will hold training sessions ahead of the event, sponsor a team for the race and will have a presence at the La Parisienne Village on Friday September 6. On Saturday, Lululemon, in collaboration with La Parisienne, will stage a yoga class at Champ-de-Mars, a venue with room for up to 2,000 practitioners of all genders.

Finally, on October 5, Lululemon will hold the Sweatlife Festival in France for the first time. In the wake of the London and Berlin editions, the day-long festival will be held at the Centquatre centre in Paris, featuring open yoga classes, various types of fitness classes and other personal development workshops.

Lululemon was founded in Vancouver in 1998, and has been thriving in the last few years. In June, it revised upwards its 2019 guidance after a strong first quarter, driven by booming online sales. Lululemon’s revenue in Q1, which ended on May 5, grew 20% to $782.3 million, exceeding analyst estimates set at $755.3 million. The revised revenue forecast for 2019 is $3.77 billion, while the previous estimate was $3.74 billion.
