Millennial-focused digitally native womenswear brand Lulus announced on Wednesday that it has opened a new 250,000-square-foot fulfilment facility in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania, to support its ongoing expansion efforts.

Lulus has promised that the new facility will create hundreds of new jobs - Instagram: @lulus

The fulfilment center, which will handle shipping and returns for the East Coast and the Mid-West, joins facilities run by companies including Walmart, Amazon, QVC, FedEx and UPS in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, a growing e-commerce shipping hub.

As part of its investment in the local area, Lulus has promised to create new jobs for hundreds of employees, providing them with health insurance, paid time off and a 401k retirement plan.

The Pennsylvania Governor's Office of Economic Development has, in turn, offered the company a package of unspecified tax incentives.

“At Lulus we are committed to delivering an unparalleled customer experience, and in today's world that means getting our clothing and accessories out to our customers as soon as possible," said Colleen Winter, co-founder and CEO of Lulus, in a release. "By opening our new facility in Palmer Township, we will now be able to vastly improve our shipping windows to ensure that we are always there to dress the Lulus woman, from day to night, to everything in-between.”

Founded in 1996 by mother-daughter team Debra Cannon and Colleen Winter, Lulus transitioned purely online in 2008.

Last May, the Chico, California-based company secured a $120 million investment from equity firm IVP and global investment management firm Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) to fund its expansion plans.
