Lifestyle brand Roc96 and fashion house MadeWorn will launch exclusively at Revolve a capsule collection celebrating the music career of Jay Z.
The collection draws inspiration from the rapper and mogul’s lyrics and his debut album, Reasonable Doubt. T-shirts and jackets are handcrafted, cut, sewn, distressed, sanded, dyed and aged and feature pop culture symbols, lyrics and track titles. MadeWorn also produced a limited-edition sneaker for the collection.
"We are treating each collection like the making of a new album. Using the same energy and DNA that fueled Roc-A-Fella,” said Kareem “Biggs” Burke, Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder. “With Revolve we are making our vision become a reality."
The collaboration collection is a natural partnership between Biggs, Blaine Halvorson of MadeWorn, and Revolve founder and CEO Michael Mente, who has found Jay Z to be an inspiration musically and in the fashion culture long before launching Revolve.
Prior to this partnership, Biggs celebrated Jay Z’s debut album with limited edition Fourth of November merchandise that went up for auction on StockX. The Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder launched Roc96, the New York City-based special brand project, to honor the past with art, design, music and culture.
Halvorson launched MadeWorn in 2013, after having launched Junk Food Clothing in 1998. MadeWorn offers crafted pieces and vintage goods over appointment only.
To celebrate the launch of the collection, Revolve will host an event at its Social Club on May 31, 2017 and will host a 4-day pop up shopping event for the public from June 1 through 4.
MadeWorn x Roc96 launches on June 1 and prices range from $160 to $3,500.
