Madewell recently opened its sixth New York City store at 69 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District.
The Meatpacking store, much like its neighboring Madewell locations, features a Denim Bar offering the brand’s signature denim selection and a Monogram Shop for custom monogramming on leather goods. The new store also offers the brand’s fall 2016 collection that was helmed by Madewell Head of Women’s Design Joyce Lee.
The J. Crew brand continues its success with the opening of its 108th retail location in the US. Madewell has increased in sales quarter over quarter recently pulling in $78.3 million for the company. Part of the brand’s solid performance is its partnership with Nordstrom that began in March 2015. Nordstrom began carrying Madewell products at 15 locations in 2015 and later expanded to 30 locations in July 2015 and finally 76 locations in July 2016. The promising performance even led to Nordstrom carrying J. Crew’s namesake label.
Madewell operates four additional New York City stores in SoHo, Upper East Side, and Flatiron in Manhattan and Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
