Madrid’s Momad fair consolidates its fashion offering ahead of February edition

Published
Dec 2, 2015

The international fashion fair Momad Metrópolis, in Madrid, is opening the doors to its new edition between 5 and 7 February. For its next issue the trade show’s organising body, IFEMA, has set up a team of experts, who are scouting for exciting designers across Spain with the goal of bolstering its value as a major meeting space in the Spanish fashion industry.

“We want to promote our Cosmos area with leading Spanish and international brands”, said Jaime de la Figuera, director of Momad. “We are additionally working on attracting new childrenswear brands for our Little area”.

The event’s organisers expect to reach 800 brands and exhibitors in its forthcoming staging, and international buyers from 70 countries. Already confirmed labels include Roberto Verino, Simorra, Mathilde Cano, Coronel Tapioca, Almatrichi, NKN, Tiffosi and Alba Conde. “In the coming weeks we expect to have new exhibitors for our Cosmos segment,” says Jaime de la Figuera.

Next year the show will also feature a “Winter Terras” area, where entertainment activities will take place organized by some of the exhibitors. Additionally Momad Metrópolis is launching a “Retail Forum” with talks and discussion panels around a number of topics.

The event has become the largest commercial space for clothing brands in the Iberian Peninsula, with its September edition recording a turnout of 17,000 visitors.

IFEMA is also launching for the first time a separate Shoe fair, to be held between 4 and 6 March. The organisers project that the first edition will feature some 400 brands and shoe manufactures. New additions include El Naturalista, Lodi y Gadea, Kanna Shoes, among other brands, while other renowned Spanish footwear labels will carry out special activities around the trade show.
