Nordstrom is teaming up with the Makeup Museum, as its exclusive retail partner. The retailer will merchandise the Makeup Museum's gift shop with iconic products from the 1950s, as part of its 'Gift Shop by Nordstrom' initiative.
Opening May 1, 2020, at 94 Gansevoort Street, in Manhattan's Meatpacking district, with its inaugural exhibition, 'Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America', the Makeup Museum will highlight beauty industry veterans and pivotal moments in the history of the beauty industry.
On top of providing a selection of items as visitors make their way out of the exhibit, Nordstrom stores in top markets will also give customers the opportunity to purchase Makeup Museum-themed products tied to the history of makeup and its ongoing impact on society.
Moreover, the museum’s mobile app and web site will allow consumers to click-to-shop Nordstrom’s web site for exhibition-themed products.
Gift Shop by Nordstrom merchandise will include products to create the perfect cat eye, red carpet essentials, iconic fragrances, and a curation of red lipsticks alongside tote bags, compact mirrors, and other items, with exclusive Makeup Museum designs.
"Iconic retailers were an important part of the retail experience for the 1950s beauty consumer, and so much more than just a place to shop," explained Doreen Bloch, Makeup Museum co-founder, in a news statement.
"There was a true thrill of getting to see and feel the latest products on the market first-hand."
Tickets for the museum will go on sale March 1, and range in price from $25 to $40, depending on the time of day.
