Mandarina Duck gets creative

Published
Dec 20, 2012

In the midst of a full relaunch, the Italian handbag brand Mandarina Duck has created a brand new post — creative director. Up until now, the label’s collection of bags and accessories were designed by a team of in-house designers. Henceforth the brand’s style will be supervised by a “Chief Designer and Communication Officer,” Valentina Milloch, selected by the company headquartered in Bologna, Italy to fill the newly created position.

“Her mission will be to bring new ideas and new energy into the handbag and accessories collections of Mandarina Duck in order to transform the brand into a new, modern style icon, based on its DNA — namely its color, design, irony and innovative materials," said a company press release. Mandarina Duck was acquired in 2011 by the Korean group E-Land.

A graduate of the European Institute of Design, Valentina Milloch worked for Vogue as well as various brands such as Iceberg, Sissi Rossi, Redwall and Diesel, where she held the position of “Head of Design” for the handbag and accessories collections for men and women. In her new role, she will be responsible for the style and design of the collections but also the overall image of Mandarina Duck.
