Mango launches post-pandemic campaign for AW22
Spanish fashion retail giant Mango has unveiled its AW22 campaign under the slogan Love what you do. It’s clearly a post-pandemic campaign with the brand “focusing on the return to work, to the routine, and on the perfect garments for this, placing special emphasis on their quality”.
It has worked with “five entrepreneurs who work on very special personal projects and who perfectly embody the Mango DNA”.
They include producer Marie Sophie, visual artist Conie Vallese, composer Klara Kristin, set designer Félix Gesnouin, and model Babacar N’Doye.
As the campaign’s stars, the company said their “diverse professional disciplines and personal experiences help us communicate the importance of what we do in relation to the person we have become: we are our city, our family, our interests, our dreams, our friends and, of course, our job and our way of life”.
Photography was by Krisztián Éder in the studio and in the street, “in real life, while showcasing the garments they are wearing, in order to highlight the quality of the materials and the versatility of the collection”.
The women’s offer for the season is based on “premium garments for a timeless wardrobe”. That means 100% wool suits, cashmere sweaters, and silk or cotton shirts, with plenty of BCI cotton. Mango said this results in “garments that are more durable and will look like they did on day one for longer”.
There are key outerwear pieces such as a tailored coat, wool or leather trench coat, bomber jackets, three-piece woollen suits with oversized jacket, waistcoat and trousers, woollen gilets, or sweaters and a bustier dress combined with a poplin shirt underneath. There are also party-focused pieces such as a minidress or miniskirt with silver paillettes or strass pieces. And the denim includes wide-leg jeans as the key piece. Accessory-wise, there are boots in different heights in black and metallic tones.
For men, the company has taken the same natural materials approach suits, shirts, woollen coats and trench coats. Performance is big focus, such as a non-crease suit, water-repelling trench coat and “virtually crease-resistant” shirt.
