Mango launches premium collection

Published
Oct 15, 2013

After the introduction of a menswear line in 2008 and a range for children earlier this year, Spanish retailer Mango is looking to further broaden its horizons with the launch of a premium womenswear collection, Mango Premium.

Mango Premium

Mango’s new, more formal line comes two years after the company dropped its prices by around 20%, which left a margin for competitor Zara to push ahead with its chic image.

The Spanish company says that its new premium line will be a means for the retailer to trial new fabrics and cuts. Mango Premium will be sold in 300 stores (of the 2,600 worldwide) in countries such as Spain, France, Germany, Portugal and Turkey.

As well as Mango Premium, the retailer has also bolstered its womenswear offering this year with the launch of sportswear and lingerie lines. Mango is also preparing for the launch of its plus size range, Violeta, expected to hit stores in 2014.
