Marni opens new store in San Francisco

Marni opened its first San Francisco flagship store at 77 Maiden Lane, at the heart of the Union Square area. The interiors reflect the Marni stores' new design concept, introduced with the Madrid and Milan shops; it's the result of a collaboration between Consuelo Castiglioni and architect Luz Maria Jaramillo, in charge of interior design for Marni.

The store extends over 320 m2 on two levels, its interiors sharing a blend of geometric shapes and different materials and atmospheres, a regular feature of the brand's language and aesthetic.

The store's layout preserves the building's original distinctive traits, among them the ground floor's high ceilings which make the space airy and bright, thanks also to the stretch-ceiling lighting.

The ground floor is dedicated to womenswear and is distinctive for its irregular-shaped marble floor, where different hues, white alongside green and grey, highlight the division of the retail area between clothing and accessories.

Handbags are presented on canvas display units, while eyewear and jewellery are showcased in bright glass and metal cabinets placed along the walls. The area dedicated to footwear, housed in leather-upholstered niches, is marked by geometric-pattern carpets and small, sage-coloured velvet sofas.

Access to the lower floor, which is entirely dedicated to menswear collections, is through a granite staircase. There the concrete floor is again in marked contrast with marble details and the strong hues featured on some of the display counters, in yellow, teal blue, magenta red and optical white wood.

With this, its seventh store in the US, Marni further strengthened its presence on American soil, proof of this market's strategic significance for the brand.
