Marvel actor Theo Rossi named brand ambassador of Staten Island’s Empire Outlets
New York’s new outlet mall is partnering with Staten Island native and actor Theo Rossi to raise the profile – and future footfall – of the development.
Former Oakwood resident Rossi, known for his roles in “Sons of Anarchy” and Marvel’s “Luke Cage,” is to “champion the economic revitalization of the North Shore” and will be instrumental in publicizing the 340,000-square-foot retail development, a press release for the outlet said.
"Theo and his family represent the heart of Staten Island and it's our honor to have a hometown hero on the Empire Outlets team," said Joseph Ferrara, developer of the mall.
Empire Outlets will be New York City’s first outlet mall, as part of the redevelopment of Staten Island’s St. George waterfront district. The complex will be constructed by BFC Partners and is to house 100 designer outlet retailers within its 350,000-squre foot retail space, with Toys R' Us, Nordstrom Rack, Banana Republic and H&M having already signed leases.
A 190-room hotel adjacent to the complex will also break ground, alongside a 1250-space parking garage.
The mall is slated to open on Black Friday, 2017.
