MCM pushes U.S. expansion with first Los Angeles flagship on Rodeo Drive

MCM Worldwide, the German luxury travel and accessories brand, has opened its first global flagship retail location in Los Angeles.

The new two-story, 4,427 square-foot store can be found on the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and marks the brand's fifth location in California.

On its exterior, the store is decorated with a brass façade designed by Kenneth Park with accents inspired by the brand's signature studs and gems, as well as large LED displays.

Inside, the flagship is equal parts business and on-brand hangout spot. In addition to an offering of exclusive items like MCM/Rodeo Drive belts, bags, backpacks, t-shirts, polos and sweatshirts -- and products like an MCM Visetos Vespa, Visetos ping pong rackets, branded ping pong balls and a Visetos Chess Set -- visitors to the store can also find a VIP event space complete with a bar and DJ booth on the second floor, a nod to the brand's connection to music and hip-hop culture.

Additional in-store flourishes include an interactive photobooth by Hypno, which allows customers to upload photos instantly to their Instagram account, and an Italian-made glass mosaic that imitates the brand's logo.

MCM currently operates 17 stores throughout the U.S., including the Rodeo Drive location, in addition to over 650 stores located in more than 40 countries around the world.
