Meghan Trainor is
Skechers’ next millennial ticket
Grammy award winner Meghan Trainor is the face of Skechers’ new marketing campaign for Skechers Originals, a throwback line targeting millennial women.
Trainor is 22 herself, and has had a noteworthy career in the music industry thus far for her age. Skechers tapped her for her millennial fans and is seeing sales results already.
“Meghan is an inspirational artist with many impressive accomplishments at only age 22, so we’re thrilled to be working with her on this global campaign for Skechers Originals,” said Skechers president Michael Greenberg, who attended the campaign photoshoot.
“With the media attention after her well-deserved win at the Grammy Awards and her new album, Meghan’s impact as an influencer continues to grow. Young women around the world are inspired by her, so we couldn’t be happier that Meghan is a member of the Skechers family,” said Greenberg.
Sketchers Originals is a retro line billed as “vintage style with modernized comfort,” with style names such as OG 78 and OG 82. The retro inspired shoes hit price points in the range of $55-$65. They are available now.
The Meghan Trainor campaign recently kicked off with retail and print marketing as well as with social media spots. A tv commercial will begin airing next week, featuring Trainor’s hit single off of her highly anticipated sophomore album which releases in May.
