Messe Frankfurt purchases three Argentinean textile trade fairs.

Published
Oct 8, 2014

There is no doubt about it, the rise in the concentration of trade fairs in this sector is remarkable. This time, it is Messe Frankfurt which is expanding its offer of trade fairs and especially its Technical Textiles & Textile Processing Business Unit, which includes the Techtextil and Techprocess events.

The trade fairs brought together 12,500 visitors this past May.

The German giant, via its local subsidiary, is taking over Emitex, Simatex and Confemaq. The three fairs in Buenos Aires are dedicated to textile suppliers and textile machines. Their customer catchment area spans much wider than Argentina. They were previously organised by Diseños y Eventos SRL with the support of Argentinian magazine Mundo Textil. Editor Andrea Lippi remains in charge of the three events which last year brought together 225 exhibitors and 12,500 visitors.

Ils étaient organisés par Diseños y Eventos SRL, avec le soutien du journal professionnel Mundo Textil.

"By taking over these three trade fairs, our portfolio now includes 10 events across all sectors in the country. In the medium-term, the goal is to make these three fairs leaders for the zone," stated Fernando Gorbarán, President of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, which was created in 1999.

Messe Franfurt has thus purchased its first South American textile trade fairs. In this sector, the organiser is mostly present in Germany, France, Russia, India and the United States.
