Milan declares peace between fashion weeks

Published
Dec 1, 2011

Has the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, headed by Mario Boselli, put an end to the conflict? According to a press release published yesterday evening, Milan has agreed that New York should start on September 6 next year, and then London, Milan and Paris will follow.

The Chamber also agreed with the dates proposed for 2013 and 2014 by Diane Von Furstenberg, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, who suggested that New York would start on the second Thursday of September, thus on Sept. 12 in 2013 and Sept. 11 in 2014.

If London and Paris agree with the new dates, this would avoid an overlap between the New York and London fashion weeks, which would be detrimental to the latter.
