Move over the “Meghan-effect”, Canadian designers have found a new media darling to dress. And, it’s none other than U.S. Open Champion, Bianca Andreescu, following her win against Serena Williams over the weekend.

Montreal-based designer Marie Saint Pierre will perhaps be one of the first to reap the benefits. The design house, founded in 1987, dressed the new Canadian tennis star at her WTA official portrait ceremony and media tour launch, which was held on Sunday at Central Park.
“We are honoured that Bianca has chosen our brand to represent Canada as she embarks on her U.S. Open Champion journey - claiming the title as first Canadian Grand Slam winner,” Maison Marie Saint Pierre said, in a news statement.
Andreescu chose a look from its fall19 collection; an off-the-shoulder dress cut in a fine scuba, featuring an asymmetrical hand-pleating taffeta hemline.
The womenswear designer is one of Canada’s most successful luxury fashion labels. The fashion house currently employs a team of over 60 people and has two retail locations in Montreal and one in Miami.
The Canadian design house equally launched its second pop-up shop in TriBeCa, over the weekend. Shoppers can discover the brand at 249 Church Street, in New York.
