Moschino and Mickey Rat celebrate Chinese New Year

Moschino is celebrating Chinese New Year with a clothing collection starring Mickey Rat.

The luxury fashion house has unveiled the limited-edition, capsule collection -- which spans womenswear, menswear and accessories -- to mark the beginning of the Year of the Rat. It is now on sale globally.

The series focuses on varsity athletic silhouettes and includes sporty hoodies and preppy t-shirts, baseball caps and socks, all featuring the famous underground cartoon rodent.

The model and fashion stylist Mia Kong and the model Jun Kai Qi have been snapped up to front the collection's campaign, which was shot by the New York-based Chinese photographer and director Shxpir Huang. The duo are pictured in a series of settings that put an avant garde twist on Chinese New Year traditions -- playing mahjong and posing with lion dancers.

Moschino is the latest in a string of luxury fashion brands to mark Chinese New Year with a creative collaboration: Gucci is celebrating the moment with a Mickey Mouse clothing and accessories collection of playful pieces for men and women.

Meanwhile, Fendi and Burberry are among the labels to have rolled out special collections for the holiday.
