Mugler launches handbag line

Published
Oct 21, 2015

Mugler expands its universe. After fragrances and women's ready-to-wear lines, the label belonging to the Clarins group has launched its first major handbag collection in its history.

The collection is entirely manufactured in Italy and was designed internally, by Creative Director David Koma. It was unveiled at the Spring/Summer 2016 show in the course of the Paris Fashion Week.

Mugler's 'Colonel' handbag, a best-seller in the initial post-show sales campaigns.

The brand's intention is to flesh out its range by diversifying into a new product category. As for the shoes used in the shows, produced by Italian manufacturer Zanotti, they are not available for sale.

The line's official launch will feature three exclusive banquets. The first took place on 15th October in London at the Rosewood Hotel, during the Frieze Art Fair. The next two will be held in Paris and New York in early November.

The collection includes some forty items in leather and metal, and revolves around three themes: a marine theme, the army and the cosmos. The models, in nubuck, brushed leather and glossy python skin, are distinctive for their architecture featuring signature metallic structures and stylised edges.
