Mulberry links with Miffy for Year of the Rabbit capsule

Luxury leathergoods brand Mulberry has linked up with animated character Miffy for a limited-edition capsule collection celebrating the Year of the Rabbit.

Mulberry x Miffy

The rabbit character —who first appeared in a series of books drawn and written by Dutch artist Dick Bruna as far back as 1955 — is the latest in a series of quirky Mulberry collabs. It sees the bunny appearing on classic key bag styles (on the straps of the Bayswater, for instance), as well as on several new tote designs, on items such as keyrings, travel and tech accessories and peeking from behind envelope wallets.

The company has also launched a campaign film to celebrate the link-up. Across the cityscape of contemporary Shanghai, the rabbit plays a game of hide and seek, careening through side streets and roads, up busy escalators and markets, while two avid fans follow her through the varied locations, carrying the new collaboration.

This all culminates with the two fans meeting Miffy to celebrate Lunar New Year against the backdrop of fireworks over Shanghai.

The products are available in Mulberry’s stores and alongside the capsule, there’s a whole world of Miffy  to buy into with lifestyle products ranging from soft toys to stationery.

In line with both the celebratory nature of the collab and with the Miffy visual style, the products come in “joyful hues” including Coral Orange, Lawn Green, Cornflower Blue, and Chalk.

Made from 100% environmentally accredited carbon-neutral leather, prices start at £65 for the smaller items, rising to £1,650 for one bag.
