NYC-based watch brand Great George officially launches

Great George, a New York City-based watch company, has officially launched with a Kickstarter campaign.

The company "thinks outside the circle" by designing square watches with the highest quality materials. It has set out to flip the classic watch status quo on by introducing a watch silhouette that hadn't yet been modernised for today's customer.

Founders Sean Murray and Steve Trayner looked to the Bauhaus art movement for the minimal and classic watch designs. Each watch possesses a 763 Ronda Swiss movement, is water resistant up to 3 ATM (30 meters) and comes with a 3-year warranty. Every style is named after a street in New York City, such as Mercer, Waverly, Crosby and Lafayette.
 
Contributors to the Great George Kickstarter campaign can receive a Great George watch and interchangeable watch straps for pledging as low as $149, or they can receive a one-day trip to New York City for pledging $10,000.

The Kickstarter campaign will run through November 18. All watches will be delivered by January 2016.
