NBC Universal, Affliction and Buckle to launch 'Fast & Furious' collection
The 'Fast & Furious' movie series has a full apparel collection on the way. NBC Universal Brand Development, The Buckle and Affliction announced on Thursday a collaboration to develop a Fast & Furious clothing line to debut in early 2017 alongside the release of the series’ latest film 'The Fate of the Furious' hitting theaters on April 14, 2017.
The collection consists of men’s and women’s edgy apparel that the collaborators describe as “modern garage-chic.” Universal will draw inspiration from the new collection for additional lifestyle programs for the Fast & Furious series.
“Fast & Furious is globally recognized as one of the most popular action-film franchises in cinematic history, and Affliction’s unique aesthetic and powerful designs capture the essence of this phenomenon,” said Manuel Torres, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Products, NBCUniversal Brand Development.
“Partnering with Buckle as the exclusive retailer for the line allows us to uniquely reach consumers who are on-trend, further amplifying the film’s presence in the lifestyle space.”
The Fast & Furious series has earned more than $3.9 billion at the global box office with Furious 7 grossing over $1.5 billion worldwide and becoming the sixth highest grossing film ever. The Fate of the Furious, the 8th film in the series, stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Kurt Russell and new cast member, Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
The Fast & Furious by Affliction Collection will be available exclusively in Buckle stores and on the Buckle website. Select products from the collection are available now.
