New York's Moscot and Freemans Sporting Club launch eyewear capsule

New York City-based eyewear brand Moscot this week launched a new eyewear collaboration with fellow New York City brand Freemans Sporting Club.
 
The collaboration frame, the Lemtosh Fold, sports a matte black colorway for the first time and introduces a foldable option. The two New York City brands drew inspiration from their respective histories to redesign the handmade, classic favorite.

 
Moscot and Freemans Sporting Club were founded nearly 100 years apart, but share over one hundred years of eyewear, tailoring and grooming expertise.

Hyman Moscot founded his namesake eyewear label in 1915, less than 20 years after arriving in New York City. At 102-years-old, the five-generation American luxury eyewear brand is the 13th oldest eyewear company still running today.

Freemans was founded in 2005 providing haircuts and grooming in the Lower East Side. It went on to sell men’s clothing designed by co-owner Taavo Somer and stitched by longtime tailor Martin Greenfield, and welcomed dining at its restaurant at the end of Freemans Alley. The boutique-slash-barber shop quickly rose in popularity during the men’s fashion renaissance in the late 2000s.
 
The special edition Lemtosh Fold in matte black retails for $400 and is available at Moscot and Freemans Sporting Goods stores and online.
