New Polartec cooling technology being used for summer baselayers
Jun 16, 2016
Polartec LLC announced multiple performance apparel brands will be adopting its Delta cooling technology into their lightweight baselayer summer products.
Unlike a surface treatment that will wash off with wear, Delta's performance is built into the structure of the textile. While Polartec is known for its insulation products, Delta is the company's newest summer product.
“Brand partners instantly saw the value in Delta’s permanent cooling capabilities within their garment,” said Polartec Product Marketing Manager, Base Layers, Karen Beattie.
Beattie continued, “the science of the fabric was the initial hook, and the comfort experienced in field testing sealed the deal. We are excited to see major brands garments hit the market all over the world so consumers can get to experience Delta first-hand.”
Seattle-based Outdoor Research is one of Polartec's brand partners that will incorporate the technology into its Gauge tee.
“With the combination of the cooling technology of the Polartec Delta fabric, the clean yet inspired styling and the great color options, we think this will be the new go-to training tee for those who like to work hard and stay cool.” Says Jason Duncan, Senior Director of Product at Outdoor Research.
Other partner brands implementing the technology include Petaluma, CA-based mountain biking brand Kitsbow, and cycling brand Velocio.
Polartec will demo Delta technology at Summer Outdoor Retailer, August 3-6, 2016.
