New UK "family fashion chain" Pep & Co to create 500 jobs

South African investment company Pepkor's new "family fashion chain" Pep & Co will create 500 jobs in the UK by the end of August, it has announced. The value retail brand will be run by Andy Bond, the former CEO and Chairman of Asda.

In addition to the 500 jobs across England, Scotland and Wales, another 40 roles will be created by Pep & Co's distribution partner Clipper Logistics. The company is backed by a £20m investment and recruitment began yesterday.

Pepkor said that the jobs have been designed to be attractive to people juggling family lives, through full and part time contracts with the opportunity to flex working hours.

Pep & Co will open 50 stores in the space of eight weeks, with the first one to be located in Kettering and opening at the beginning of July.
