Nike and Dick’s Sporting Goods collaborate on loyalty program
Nov 5, 2021
Dick’s Sporting Goods and Nike Inc. are now allowing customers to connect their Dick’s Scorecard and Nike Membership accounts through Dick’s mobile app.
The move is part of a new connected partnership, which allows customers to equally gain access to products, experiences and offers.
The program includes other member-exclusive benefits such as footwear and apparel launches and collections, including running and yoga apparel. A Nike Air Force 1 and Blazer was scheduled to launch on Thursday, while new styles are expected to be available on a regular basis.
The collaboration equally introduces in-store workout events for members starting at Dick’s House of Sport locations in Rochester, NY, and Knoxville, TN, in November and December, and will gradually expand to more Dick’s stores.
The partnerships comes as Dick's Sporting Goods received 19 percent of its sales from Nike products last year.
“Dick’s and Nike have a long and successful history of working together, and this partnership represents a significant strengthening of our relationship,” said Lauren Hobart, president and CEO, Dick’s Sporting Goods. “We are both focused on delivering best-in-class experiences and products and creating the best omnichannel experience for our athletes. Combining our capabilities in these areas will create a unique experience in the market for athletes who shop with Dick’s and Nike.”
“Nike Membership is how we serve our consumers personally. It fuels deeper engagement and greater access to the very best of Nike,” added Sarah Mensah, vice president and general manager, North America, Nike. “We’re helping consumers connect with sport, and our products whenever, however, and wherever they shop Nike. Our partnership with Dick’s is just another example of how we are reimagining how people connect with Nike across an increasingly digital and connected marketplace.”
The companies also hinted that Nike customers may soon be able to drop off their returns or pick up online orders at Dick’s stores.
In September, the American sports equipment retailer opened its first Public Lands store, a new outdoor-focused specialty concept, in Pittsburgh, PA.
The company currently operates over 730 Dick's Sporting Goods locations across the United States. It is headquartered in Pittsburgh, and also owns and operates Golf Galaxy and Field & Stream specialty stores, as well as GameChanger.
