Nike creates new campaign out of recycled ads

Published
Mar 23, 2011

A few days after the launch of “adidas is all in”, the most expensive campaign in the Adidas’ history that embraces all of its sub-brands, Nike is counter-attacking with “Better World”: a 100% recycled video –found on Nike’s website but also across the net after becoming viral – that is entirely made from bits of its previous advertising campaigns.

Nike Better World

Created by the Wieden+Kennedy agency, “Better World” aims to show the involvement and concern that the sportswear giant has with environmental and social issues. 38 athletes will appear in the video, which consists of extracts from 70 different campaigns that Nike made between 1988 and today and is narrated by actor Josh Segarra.

The video also comes with the launch of a new website, www.nikebetterworld.com, where different sections take you to a corporative website where you can learn about the company’s local and global initiatives, or about a specific product’s environmental impact, etc.
