Nike makes general management changes for global business

Nike announced on Thursday five general management appointments. The company has appointed Phil McCartney as VP, GM of Nike Footwear; Tom Peddie as VP, GM of Integrated Marketplace North America; Ann Hebert as VP, GM of Emerging Markets; Christophe Merkel as VP, GM of Nike Japan and Jim Reynolds as VP, GM of Athletic Specialty.

McCartney begins his role as VP, GM of Nike Footwear on June 1, 2016 and he will report to Michael Spillane, President, Product and Merchandising. He possesses 19 years of Nike experience in multiple categories and geographies, and he will continue to work with category teams, product development, design and merchandising.
 
Peddie, who is currently the VP, GM of Emerging Markets, will take on the role of VP, GM of Integrated Marketplace North America on July 1, 2016, and he will report to Joaquin Hidalgo, VP, GM of North America. He has driven strong growth across the Emerging Markets and will now take a leadership in driving a holistic integrated marketplace strategy in North America.

Hebert succeeds Peddie as VP, GM of Emerging Markets beginning July 1, 2016 and will report to Elliott Hill, President, Geographies and Integrated Marketplace, NIKE, Inc. Hebert served in management positions in DTC, Sales, Category, and Merchandising.
 
Merkel is currently the GM of Nike Turkey, and he will assume the role of VP, GM of Nike Japan on July 1, 2016 also reporting to Elliott Hill. Merkel will succeed Jim Reynolds who will assume the role of VP, GM of Athletic Specialty in June 2016. Reynolds will focus on driving Nike’s integrated marketplace strategy against Athletic Specialty globally and will report to Mike Best, VP, Global Sales.
