U.S specialty retailer, Nordstrom Inc., announced on Tuesday plans to open Nordstrom Rack in Toronto, in 2018.
The Rack, Nordstrom’s off-price retail division, will open in Yorkville on the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Bloor Street. Yorkville is a well-known shopping district in Toronto currently occupied by retailers like Holt Renfrew, Prada, Gap, Michael Kors, Zara and more.
The Rack offers savings of 30 to 70 percent off regular prices from merchandise that comes from Nordstrom stores and specially purchased items from many of its top brands.
"We're excited to announce our first Nordstrom Rack in Canada in such a wonderful location and provide Canadian customers another way to shop their favorite Nordstrom brands at great prices," says Karen McKibbin, president of Nordstrom Canada, in a press release. "We want to be a part of compelling locations across the country and this is a great first step. We look forward to getting our doors open to serve customers in Toronto."
Nordstrom’s first announced plans to expand to Canada in 2012. Their full-line store is scheduled to open in Toronto at the CF Eaton Centre on September 16, 2016, Yorkdale Shopping Centre on October 21, 2016 and CF Sherway Gardens in fall 2017.
