Nordstrom chief technology, information officer to leave

Published
Oct 7, 2022

Nordstrom Inc. announced on Wednesday that Edmond Mesrobian, the company’s chief technology and information officer, is stepping down from his position, effective October 14, 2022.

Mesrobian joined Nordstrom in 2018, after previously working as chief technology officer of travel giant Expedia Group, streaming service RealNetworks, and UK grocery retailer Tesco, respectively.

Mesrobian informed the company September 30 that he was stepping down, according to a regulatory filing from the luxury retailer.

The Seattle-based retailer did not yet name his successor.

The departure news comes on the back of news that Nordstrom had adopted a "poison pill" to prevent investors from amassing 10% or more of its shares, just days after a Mexican retailer built a stake in the luxury department store chain in late September.

The department store chain Liverpool disclosed a 9.9% passive stake in Nordstrom, in a bid to diversify its geographic foothold.

Liverpool is currently the second-biggest shareholder, behind former chairman Bruce Nordstrom, according to Refinitiv.
