North Sails opens NY flagship store and targets retail growth in USA
North Sails, the historic US sailing-inspired activewear brand, now owned by a Dutch-Italian group, has opened a 200 m2 store at 108 Fifth Avenue, New York, showcasing its men's, women's and children's collections.

The New York opening marks the first step in the brand's US retail expansion strategy, with future stores planned in Annapolis, Maryland and Newport, Rhode Island.
The store's interiors feature giant screens, broadcasting videos of the world's most prestigious regattas, alongside materials typical of the nautical world such as teak and sail cloth.
This is North Sails' 50th international monobrand store. The label also serves some 1,100 multi-brand stores worldwide, 800 of them in Italy and 300 in other countries, among them Spain, France, Germany, northern Europe and the USA.
In 2016, North Sails recorded a revenue of €40 million, and the company has forecasted a stable result for 2017, with an output of approximately 1.2 million activewear items.
