NW Materials Show hits Portland

The Materials Show will kick off its 2-day Northwest edition in Portland, OR this Tuesday.

The show is produced by American Events, Inc., a Portland-based company founded by a former Nike materials manager who recognized an opportunity for vendors to stay in Portland and show lines to companies in Portland after they finished up at Nike’s internal vendor fair.

The show has since expanded to the East Coast, with a Boston event, as well as a Southern California show.

Global companies attend the show to source new materials. Attendees include Nike, Mizuno, Microsoft, Apple, Asics, and Intel.

The show takes place at the Oregon Convention Center and runs over 2 days. It kicks off each morning with breakfast, includes a complimentary lunch each day, and hosts a coffee and tea each afternoon. There is also an evening reception after the first day wraps.

The show is a favorite among industry professionals. As one exhibitor says, the show is a "giant magnet helping pull together the best brands and suppliers."

The NW show runs March 1 and 2, 2016.
