Oliver Peoples announced on Friday the opening of a permanent retail location in East Hampton located at 53 Newtown Lane.
The East Hampton store will replace the luxury eyewear brand’s pop up store in the same location, and it is slated to open on Memorial Day Weekend. The Los Angeles-based brand called on fellow Los Angeles architecture firm Marmol Radziner to transform the temporary space into a standalone store. The store features references to the East Hampton beach lifestyle with grey wood floors, grey ash casework and a patchwork rug.
Oliver Peoples opened its Hamptons pop up on Memorial Day Weekend in 2015, and the pop up is being transitioned to a permanent store following its success last year.
The eyewear brand currently operates three stores in New York City, two on Madison Avenue and one on West Broadway in SoHo. The company has 14 global stores in San Francisco, Malibu, Los Angeles, Costa Mesa and San Diego in California; Chicago; Short Hills, NJ; and Tokyo, Nagoya, Daikanyama and Tokyo Gallery in Japan.
